The local church has been my calling since I was a young man. Helping the local ‘small’ church has been impressed upon my heart even more since I have been the Senior Pastor at Hilmar Family Church in the fall of 2017. It’s a small church in a rural farming community. Being here has helped me understand I need a lot of help in a lot of areas all the time. I know the struggle of not having the coffee turned on because the coffee guy didn’t show up. Or the gates not being opened on time. Or the sound system breaking in the middle of a service. Or the kids’ ministry cancelling last minute. Then in 2020 the 3 major incidents that changed America and the fallout from each of those in 2021.

These have been the most challenging years for anyone personally, let alone going through this as a small church pastor. I know because, for me, the call hasn’t changed, the vision hasn’t changed, the desire to see lives changed hasn’t changed. Yet everything has changed in the last 2 years. I want to help. I have been in ministry for 21 years, 11 of those formally. Between my wife and I, we have worked in youth ministries, kids ministries, the church office, and worship ministry as our main ministry until becoming a senior pastor these last years.
